Half an ArchJonathan Gathorne-Hardy
Winner of the 2005 J. R. Ackerley Prize for Autobiography Half An Arch is the compelling autobiography of one of the most distinctive English writers of the late twentieth century, Jonathan Gathorne-Hardy. Gathorne-Hardy chronicles, vividly but without sentimentality, the brutal decline in the fortunes of the clever and colourful Gathorne-Hardy family in the aftermath of two world wars. Jonathan Gathorne-Hardy is the author of numerous books, including five novels, two volumes of short stories, six works of non-fiction and eleven children’s books. He lives with his second wife, the painter Nicky Loutit, in north Norfolk. His biography of Alfred C. Kinsey is the basis of Kinsey starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney.
